Pacific Beach
Pacific Beach is a popular San Diego beach community of west of Bay Park. It has long been home to many young people who love to surf and hang out at the beach. There are some rather expensive areas in North Pacific Beach and Mount Soledad that also attract more professional, affluent folks who can invest in the ultimate beach lifestyle.
This very dichotomy of residents is also reflected in the properties available in Pacific Beach. Students and other younger people might purchase a condo in one of the less expensive communities, the most popular of which is the ‘Plaza’ which starts as low as $200K.
There are also numerous houses available that were often built in the 1940’s and 1950’s that have been added to, and upgraded over the years. Some are extremely expensive, offering grand ocean views costing millions of dollars.
“P.B.,” as it is known by local residents, features one of the ‘nigh life’ opportunities in San Diego with dozens of bars, eateries, and retail shops. Pacific Beach goes for miles from Mission Bay jetty La Jolla. The boardwalk, officially called Ocean Front Walk/Ocean Boulevard, is a walk way used by pedestrians, bicycles, and skateboards. It runs approximately 3.2 miles along the beach connecting Pacific Beach to the Ocean Beach pier.
There are many local shops, bars, and restaurants along the boardwalk, and it is typically crowded with pedestrians, cyclists and shoppers. Also adjacent to the boardwalk is the Crystal Pier, a public pier and hotel at the west end of Garnet Avenue. Come make Pacific Beach your new home!
